Limit Options.

"Young children can handle two options. Three is too many."  - Paula Polk Lillard and Lynn Lillard Jessen, authors of Montessori From The Start

Too much stuff leads to too many choices...all of these choices are disctractions from the natural - and expnential - growth of early childhoo.  Let me frame it as an understatement: Young children are very busy.  Their evolution in the first ten years of life - neural, social, and physical - makes what we do as adults look like standing still.  - Kim John Payne, M.ED., author of Simplicity Parenting

If you overwhelm a child with stuff - with choices and pseudochoices - before they are ready, they will only know one emotional gesture: "More!"  - Kim John Payne, M.ED., author of Simplicity Parenting
